Government declares public holiday for Bakra Eid

Kathmandu, May 22

The government has announced a public holiday on May 28 on the occasion of Bakra Eid. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice on Thursday informing the public about the holiday.

Bakra Eid, also known as Eid-ul-Adha, is one of the major festivals celebrated by followers of Islam.

According to the Ministry’s spokesperson, Ananda Kafle, the government decided to grant a nationwide public holiday after the Muslim Commission informed the ministry that Bakra Eid falls on May 28 this year.
