Gen Z movement injured meet PM, demand justice and protection

Kathmandu, October 21

Injured protestors of the Gen Z Movement have submitted a five-point demand to Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

The injured reached Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister Karki and presented their five-point demands.

According to Rupin Khadka, who met the Prime Minister, the demands include action against those who opened fire during the movement, amendment of the constitution, protection of the movement, and investigation into corruption, among others.

“We have urged the government to address our five-point demands,” he said.

According to him, the injured have given an ultimatum to the government to fulfill their demands. Prime Minister Sushila Karki stated that the current government would not act beyond the spirit of the Gen Z Movement.

Prime Minister Karki assured the injured protesters that the government would work according to the mandate it has received.

“We will not go beyond the essence of the Gen Z Movement. We will act lawfully and within due process. We will move forward in line with the mandate given to us,” she said.

She added that elections would be held on scheduled time and investigation on corruption would continue. She claimed that state agencies were already investigating corruption at a fast pace.

She further added, “Don’t stop speaking up. Don’t stop mounting pressure on us. You’ll see results soon.”
