Former NRNA VP Kul Acharya demands special convention

London, January

Former NRNA Vice-president Kul Acharya has demanded that the association convene a special convention to approve its financial and organisational reports.

Talking to mediapersons in London, Acharya said that the convention had to be organised as the reports were not endorsed by the general meeting in Kathmandu last year.

“The meeting did not endorse the reports and this has had a negative impact on our image and there have been reports of irregularities within the organisation,” Acharya said adding that the leadership has not made public the details of the amount raised during the 2018 world knowledge conference and financial details of the hotel bookings for the event.

Acharya also raised questions about the recently held meeting of the international coordination council of the association. He said the leadership’s move to nominate people for various positions without considering the recommendations of the regional coordinators ws not in the interest of the association. The association has been built with sweat and labour of thousands of NRNs and its reputation is now on the line, he added.
