The former King of Mustang, Jigme Parbal Bista, has died. Bista was 86.
The ex-King died in course of a treatment at Om Hospital in Chabahil, his adviser Indra Dhara Bista informed. He had been living with his family at Bouddha.
Till a decade ago, Bista was a powerful figure in Mustang. After Jana Andolan II, which gripped the country about a decade ago, Bista was not active in politics. Still, he was quite popular in Upper Mustang, which has Lhomanthang as the capital, where his palace is located.
