The five bodies found at the base camp of Yalung-Ri Mountain in the Rolwaling region of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9, Dolakha, have been identified as those of two Nepali and three foreign climbers.
District Police Office Dolakha information officer Police Inspector Santosh Kumar Khadka said the five bodies recovered on Sunday belonged to Nepali mountain guides Padam Tamang of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9, Dolakha, and Mer Karki of Mapya Dudhkunda Rural Municipality-5, Solukhumbu.
According to Khadka, the bodies of the foreign climbers have been identified as Marco Di Marcello of Canada, Markus Karchiller of Italy and Kyakob Iseriver of Germany.
Khadka said the bodies of the three foreign climbers and one mountain guide have been sent to the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for post-mortem examinations, while the body of Tamang from Dolakha will undergo a post-mortem examination in Charikot.
