Kathmandu, February 17
The Ministry of Finance has allocated an additional Rs 1 billion for the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines.
Earlier, the ministry has already allocated Rs 500 million for the purpose.
The new allocation follows the government decision to buy two million doses of COVISHIELD vaccines from India’s Serum Institute.
Nepal has not bought any Covid-19 vaccine so far.
Earlier, the Indian government had donated one million doses of the same vaccine under its #VaccineMaitri programme. So far, the government of Nepal has been using the same vaccines.
