Finance Minister laments over efforts to create ‘illusions’ about economy

Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada speaks at a function in Kathmandu, on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

Kathmandu, September 8

Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada has expressed his sadness over various efforts launched to create illusions about the economic status of the country. Claiming the economic status of the country is not problematic as it has been projected, he says some people have mobilised others to create rumours and illusions about the status.

Inaugurating the 10th anniversary function of the Nepalese Association of Financial Journalists (NAFIJ) in Kathmandu on Sunday, Khatiwada stated that most economic indicators were positive currently, but there were efforts inside the country to create illusions.

“International organisations have been reported that the data made public by the government in consent with the private sector are fake,” he said, “It shows how active the illusion creators are.”
