Final arguments pending in petition against Rabi Lamichhane case revision; hearing set for Thursday

Kathmandu, March 18

The hearing on a writ petition filed against the Attorney General’s decision to revise the charge sheet in the money laundering and organised crime case against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane remained inconclusive again on Tuesday.

The case, listed before a joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Sharanga Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel, was deferred after one remaining argument could not be completed.

Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi said that his rebuttal argument is still pending and informed that the court is likely to issue an order after its completion on Thursday.

“On Wednesday, there is a public holiday, and the bench will sit on Thursday. All other arguments have been completed. Only my rebuttal remains. There is a possibility that the final verdict may also come on the same day,” said Tripathi, who is the petitioner.

He added that if the court does not set another date for delivering the verdict, a decision could be announced on Thursday itself.
