Far-West Provincial Government to give Rs 20 million in flood relief, ministers to donate a month's salary

The Far-West Provincial Government has decided to provide 20 million rupees in assistance to those affected by the Rasuwa flood.

Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Ombikram Bhatt said the Friday cabinet meeting decided to provide the Rs 20 million for flood relief.

According to Bhatt, the meeting also decided that Chief Minister Khagraj Bhatt and all provincial ministers will contribute one month’s salary toward relief for those affected.

The provincial government’s assistance will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

The government also decided to send a team of health workers to the affected areas to provide treatment.

In the same Friday meeting, the government appointed Gokarna Prakash Bhatt as vice-chairman of the Policy and Planning Commission.

The provincial government also announced that CPN-UML has nominated Hira Chand and Gangadatta Joshi as members of the Policy and Planning Commission.
