European film festival to take place in Kathmandu and Pokhara

Kathmandu, August 20

The Delegation of the European Union to Nepal is organising the ‘European Film Festival 2019’ in Kathmandu and Pokhara from August 24. The festival will feature nine films from eight European Union members.

The festival will be held at Qs Cinema at Rising Mall from August 24-26 and Midtown Galleria in New Road, Pokhara from August 31 to September 2. This is the first time the festival is being held in Pokhara.

“We have received a good response from Nepali movie goers during our previous editions and we hope to receive the same level of response this year too,” said the EU’s Ambassador to Nepal Veronica Cody.

She further added such festivals will bring European diversity to Nepal through which Nepalis can learn more about European countries and culture.

The festival will be featuring nine European films of different origins and themes and aims at building a strong tradition in the years ahead with the hope of reaching out to an ever-growing number of Nepalis.

Three screenings will take place every day and the entry is free.
