Caravan 2: French director Eric Valli in Kathmandu to prepare for a new film

Oscar-nominated director Eric Valli is in Kathmandu to oversee preparations for his new film.

Valli is the director of the movie Himalaya: Caravan shot in Nepal in 1999.

Eric Valli says he came to Kathmandu to take stock of his new film project. He says he will stay in Nepal and work on the script and look for locations before flying back to France.

Sources tell Onlinekhabar that the working title of the film is Caravan 2. However, the official name of the film will be announced soon.

Sources also say Eric Valli has finalised two male actors for the movie. Both of them are from Humla. Either Menuka Pradhan or Thinley Lhamo, who have both met Valli recently, will play the female lead. According to people close to Valli, the film will tell the story of people from Humla who come to Kathmandu. The movie is expected to be shot in either Manang or Mustang.

The new movie is being made in partnership with a French company. The making of the movie was affected by the Covid pandemic.
