Kathmandu, December 29

Power supply came to a halt in the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday morning, reminding valley folks of days when there would be no electricity for hours.

Nepal Electricity Authority explained why.

‘Electricity went off as a jumper wire of the 132-KV Marsyangdi-Syuchatar transmission line snapped’

Prabal Adhikari, spokesperson for NEA, said this happened as a jumper wire of the 132-KV Marsyangdi-Syuchatar transmission line snapped.

The power went off at 7.20 am. Repair works are currently underway.

After around two hours, power supply resumed for a while, only to go off again.
