Eight Biplav Maoists held to prevent anti-poll activities in Gorkha

Gorkha, November 12

Police in Gorkha district on Saturday arrested eight cadres of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist party suspecting they might carry out anti-election activities.

The District Police Office says they were arrested suspecting they could affect peace and security in the run-up to parliamentary elections in the district. The Ministry of Home Affairs had directed police for the arrest, according to DSP Bhesh Raj Rijal.

The suspects have been kept in the DPO’s custody for further investigation.

The arrestees include Anil Kumal, Meghraj Kumal, Bhola Bhujel, Rajan Bhatta, Kopila Bhatta, Gakul Kumal, Bharat Koirala and Bishal Gajurel.
