Lawyers advocating for Dr Govinda KC during the hearing on a contempt of court case filed against him have demanded that Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli be brought to the trial as their client accused him of corruption.
Earlier, the veteran medical education reform activist had repeatedly told the division bench of justices Purushottam Bhandari and Bam Kumar Shrestha that Parajuli was corrupt and a member of the mafia.
Following his statements, his lawyers including Dinesh Tripathi said Parajuli should be brought to the bench and given a chance to provide his opinions over the issue as demanded by Dr KC.
The lawyers also demanded that the apex court begin an investigation into charges Dr KC lebelled on Parajuli.
