Don’t make lawmakers visit Singha Durbar to get plans and projects approved: National Assembly Chief

National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina

Kathmandu, June 6

National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has urged the central government to end the trend that members of the public and people’s representatives at different levels have to visit Singha Durbar frequently with plans and projects of their respective areas to get them approved.

Speaking at an information sharing programme organised for the lawmakers on Wednesday, Timilsina urged the government to end the traditional approach as this affected the presence of lawmakers at the Federal Parliament meeting.

Similarly, he also expressed dissatisfaction over the allocation of budget that was announced last week. “The amount should be allocated prioritising the needs and plans,” he said.

“If this trend ends, it will set a new example of good governance in the KP Sharma Oli-led government,” added Timilsina.
