Kathmandu, June 26
The plot in director Manoj Pandit’s new movie ‘Chaya’ revolves around sex abuse against boys, the filmmaker says.
Pandit, who has movies like ‘Lakshya’ and ‘Dasdhunga’ under is belt, has made a name for himself for exploring new stories for his films. Although he has had limited commercial success, Pandit’s works have received critical acclaim.
“Stories on abuse against women is common, but no one talks about abuse against boys and men,” says Pandit. “That is why I have chosen this theme.”
The movie has been accorded ‘special’ status by Nepal’s Film Development Board, and it received the Best Film and the Best Director award at the International Human Rights Film Festival in Kathmandu.
