Kathmandu, July 23

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has advised Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to devise a plan to control the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

Two days after the government ended the four-month lockdown imposed to control the outbreak, the main opposition leader met the prime minister in Baluwatar and suggested the country would new a new strategy to deal with post-lockdown challenges. During the meeting, Deuba feared the human movement could increase the risk of infection in this period.

In another context, the opposition leader urged the PM to expedite rescue and repatriation of Nepali migrant workers stranded abroad due to the Covid-19 crisis and rehabilitate flood and landslide-affected citizens in the country as soon as possible.

Sources privy to the meeting say Deuba also reminded the PM to address concerns raised by various groups in different forms of protests.
