The government has deployed a dedicated helicopter to rescue workers trapped in the tunnel of a hydropower project.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, rescue efforts are focused on the Upper Trishuli A Hydropower Project. The Authority said it has deployed a team equipped with the necessary rescue gear to make the operation more effective for those still inside the tunnel.
A total of 350 people were rescued from Upper Trishuli on Thursday. The Authority said two more people were safely rescued from inside the tunnel today. Difficult terrain and adverse conditions have made rescue operations in the area challenging.
