Locals at Pakhapani, Rapti rural municipality-1 of the Dang district in Lumbini have blocked a section of the East-West Highway after a tipper hit killed a woman.
Locals have demonstrated on the road and chanted slogans demanding an investigation into the case and compensation to the victim’s family.
The victim has been identified as Dila Paudel (35), a resident of Rapti rural municipality-1. She was hit by the tipper (Ra 1 Kha 1286) at Pakhapani at around 6 am on Tuesday.
The woman was riding on a bicycle towards Bhalubang of the district to sell milk.
The victim’s body is still on the East-West Highway. Hundreds of vehicles have been stuck halfway on both sides of the road due to the obstruction.
