Lok Bahadur Bishwakarma, Chairperson of the Nepal Dalit Association, a sister organisation of the Nepali Congress, has resigned from his position.
He submitted his resignation to President Gagan Kumar Thapa on Monday. In his resignation letter, Bishwakarma stated that he was unable to continue fulfilling his responsibilities due to personal and health-related issues.
He had been appointed as the central chairperson of the Dalit Association on October 13, 2023, by then party president Sher Bahadur Deuba.
A few days earlier, Bidhan Gurung, Chairperson of the Nepal Tarun Dal, had also submitted his resignation to President Thapa.
