Dahal consults former Maoist leaders about next steps

Pushpa Kamal Dahal

Kathmandu, July 20

One of the two chairmen of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has met leaders close to him, those who were members of the erstwhile CPN-Maoist Centre, in particular, seeking suggestions on his next steps as the dispute between him and another chairman KP Sharma Oli does not cool off.

During a gathering held at his personal residence in Khumaltar of Lalitpur on Monday morning, the leaders advised Dahal to resume the halted standing committee meeting and discuss all the issues listed on the agenda previously. They also suggested another chairman of the party, Oli, should take initiatives in this regard as he is considered the first-rank between the chairs.

Meanwhile, Dahal also reiterated that he had not forged any agreement with Oli regarding organising the party convention as early as before December.
