Kathmandu, July 22

The Ministry of Health and Population says the spread of the coronavirus infection is on the rise in Nepal again, at least for the past one week.

Warning that the third wave could hit the country soon, the ministry has urged health institutions across the country to prepare resources and facilities such as oxygen and beds.

The ministry, in a statement today, says people are seen violating health protocols imposed to control the infection, hence the outbreak has not been controlled as much as it should have been.

The ministry says the citizens should follow the protocols even when they go to the Covid-19 vaccination centres.

As of today, 10 districts have more than 500 active cases whereas the number of districts with more than 200 active cases is 26, according to the statement.
