Consultancy operator arrested after woman’s TikTok video says son was left stranded on promise of Korea job

A man has been arrested on charges of leaving a person stranded for two years on the pretext of sending him to Korea.

The arrested man is Ganesh Pandey, 28, of Belkotgadhi Municipality-11 in Nuwakot. A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office took him into custody.

A woman had posted a video on TikTok, addressed to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, demanding action. She said her son had been left stranded for two years after being promised a job in Korea.

Following the video, the police team assigned to investigate arrested Pandey, who runs New Safal Global Consultancy. An investigation into him on charges of fraud is under way.
