Constitution Day celebrated at Army Pavilion (Photos)

A special ceremony was held today at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel to mark Constitution Day.

President Ram Chandra Poudel participated as the chief guest in the main Constitution Day ceremony. Also in attendance were Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is the chairman of the Constitution Day Main Ceremony Committee, and other distinguished guests.

During the ceremony, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force showcased cultural performances. White doves, symbolising peace, were also released.

On Constitution Day, President Poudel will host a programme at Sheetal Niwas this evening. A musical programme will also be held this evening on the road in front of Narayanhiti Palace, where Prime Minister Oli is expected to attend, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal was promulgated by the Constituent Assembly in 2015, marking the culmination of a seven-decade-long struggle, sacrifices, and people’s movements.

On this occasion, the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the National Assembly, and leaders of various political parties have issued goodwill messages, calling for the grand celebration of the national day in a joyous atmosphere.

The government has also called on citizens to hoist the national flag and illuminate their homes in celebration of Constitution Day.
