Janakpurdham, January 5

Two people died in the Dhanusha and Saptari districts of Province 2 due to cold waves.

The temperature has sharply dropped in the southern plains of the country for the past couple of days.

The deceased have been identified as Samundri Devi Yadav (60) Kshireshwarnath municipality-5 of Dhanusha and Devnarayan Thakur (65) Mahadeva rural municipality-4 of Saptari.

Yadav breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Janakpurdham-based provincial hospital, shares District Coordination Committee chief Ramdev Yadav.

Likewise, Thakur died on the way to a hospital for treatment, informs the vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, Mamata Yadav.

Four local governments of Dhanusha have announced holidays for schools with the rise in the cold waves.
