CoAS Thapa to leave for China on Sunday

Kathmandu, June 14

Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa will be going to China for an official visit on Sunday, June 16. Thapa is going to China upon an invitation of the People’s Liberation Army.

This will be Thapa’s first visit to China after taking the role as the army chief.

He will conclude his visit and return to Nepal on June 22.

During the trip, Thapa will visit Chinese Military bases and also visit historical monuments. He will also be meeting high ranking officials of the People’s Liberation Army, according to the Nepal Army.

The national military force says it believes that this visit will further develop the harmonious relationship between the two countries.

Thapa will be joined by his wife Deepa Thapa and eight other officials.
