CIAA summons Gopal Khadka for statements on NOC land purchase scam

File: Then NOC Executive Director Gopal Bahadur Khadka

Kathmandu, January 23

The constitutional anti-corruption body, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, has summoned sacked Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Gopal Khadka to record his statements on alleged irregularities while purchasing land to build petroleum storage facilities in various parts of the country.

The Commission says it will begin recording his statements today.

The Commission has already recorded statements from land owners, agents and middlemen, and representatives of local governments in connection with the case.

So far, 16 high officials among around 300 persons have given their statements, according to the Commission.

The constitutional body says other members of the NOC Board of Directors will be summoned after Khadka.

Few months ago, the Commission had visited the land purchased in Jhapa, Sarlahi, Chitwan and Rupandehi districts.

Khadka was sacked from the top position after two parliamentary committees accused him of irregularities in the purchase.
