Kathmandu, February 7
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has decided not to move forward an investigation it had launched against former Inspector General Upendra Kant Aryal.
The anti-corruption constitutional body had launched a probe suspecting that Aryal amassed property illegally while working for Nepal Police at different positions.
In past few months, the Commission had summoned Aryal four times to give statements over accusations filed against him.
In the probe carried out so far, the charges against him could not be established; therefore the case has been put on hold now, according to a Commission source.
If the Commission finds evidence against him, the case can be revived.
