Chitwan town to be deprived of power supply for eight hours every night

Chitwan, June 11

Electricity supply will be disrupted for eight hours daily for one week in Madi of Chitwan district owing to maintenance of equipment.

The power supply will be shut from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily as the 33 KV underground transmission line is being repaired, informed Anada Kunwar, Chief of Madi-based office of Nepal Electricity Authority.

The underground transmission line is creating problems in the smooth supply of electricity frequently. The power supply was disrupted for a long period last year creating problems in the daily activities of the locals.

“We are repairing the line so that no problems would arise to supply electricity during monsoon the season,” said Nepal Electricity Authority’s Bharatpur office chief Suresh Mahato.

A joint technical team from India and Nepal Electricity Authority will be repairing the transmission line.
