In an unusual criminal case, a man died while jumping off the roof of his house after killing his wife, in Bharatpur of the Chitwan district in southern Nepal on Sunday evening.
Krishna Prasad Acharya (43), a resident of Ramailo Chok, Bharatpur-10, attacked his wife Rushma (35) with a sharp weapon over a familial dispute and left her injured, according to police.
DSP Narahari Adhikari, the spokesperson of the Chitwan District Police Office, says Krishna Prasad then tried to flee the scene by jumping off the roof of the three-storey, but he injured himself in the process.
Both were taken to Purano Medical College Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur for treatment, but both died, according to police.
Krishna Prasad had returned home from a foreign job just one and a half months ago whereas Rushma would work as a teacher.
Of late, the couple were on bad terms and living in different flats of the same house.
The deceased have a 12-year-old daughter.
