A Chinese citizen has been arrested in Kathmandu on the charge of taking at least five teenage girls hostage for the purpose of abuse.
Yang Li was arrested recently and the girls were rescued to safety, Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau chief Uttam Raj Subedi says.
Of the five rescued, two are suspected to be surviving sexual abuse from him, according to the police.
“We have sent the case to the Lalitpur police as the incident took place in Lalitpur,” Subedi says, “Further investigation is underway there itself.”
