Chauraha, Biratnagar to lock horns for DPL title

Kathmandu, April 20

Paras Khadka-led Team Chauraha and Sharad Vesawkar-led Biratnagar Kings will lock horns in the final of the Dhangadhi Premier League on Saturday.

Khadka’s team secured the final berth by defeating Rupandehi Challengers by 92 runs in the match played at the grounds of Seti Zonal Police Office in Dhangadhi today.

While chasing the target of 173 runs, the Challengers lost all the wickets at the 15.2 over. They had made 80 runs by then.

In the first innings, after winning the toss and electing to bat, the Team Chauraha had scored 172 runs at the loss of five wickets.

The victor team’s skipper Paras Khadka was declared the Man of the Match.

Earlier, in the first playoff held on Wednesday, the Biratnagar team had defeated the Challengers by 29 runs.

Winners of the Nepal’s biggest cricket tournament in terms of prize money will get a cash prize of Rs 1.5 million, runners-up get Rs 700,000.
