The main opposition party in Federal Parliament has commented that the budget plan for the upcoming fiscal year, which Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada presented in a joint meeting of two houses on Wednesday, was against wishes and aspirations of people.

Nepali Congress held its parliamentary party meeting in Singhadarbar one day after the budget speech and made its official response public.

The party’s chief whip Bal Krishna Khand says in stead of promoting employing opportunities, expediting development works and increasing production, the new plan would just increase debts of people.

The meeting commented that the budget was distribution oriented in nature and it could not take the country towards development and prosperity.

Finance Minister Khatiwada have presented the plan worth Rs 1.532 trillion yesterday.
