Kathmandu, November 24
Bollywood actor Dharmendra has passed away at the age of 89. Indian media reported that he died on Monday afternoon at his residence.
Confirming the news, Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar paid tribute to Dharmendra on social media.
“The passing of Dharmendra marks the end of an era. He was a true hero of mainstream cinema, a towering megastar whose presence will forever shine in the history of Indian cinema,” he wrote.
Veteran Bollywood personalities including Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan arrived to attend the final rites.
Earlier, ambulances and other vehicles were seen at Dharmendra’s residence, and security around the house had been increased.
