Kathmandu, November 23
The body found on the roadside near the New Bus Park in Tokha Municipality–9, Kathmandu, has been confirmed to be that of a third-gender individual.
Although it has been established that the body belonged to a third-gender person, their identity has not yet been confirmed.
Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, SP and spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Range, said the lack of identification has created difficulties in the investigation.
Police reached the scene after receiving information about the body and began an investigation. During the on-site examination, the body was found wrapped and bundled in a bedsheet.
As the body was discovered under suspicious circumstances, police have proceeded with the investigation assuming the possibility of homicide. However, the body had not been dismembered; it was found intact.
The body has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital for post-mortem. Identification has still not been established.
