Biplav Maoists’ spokesperson arrested in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, August 8

Members of the Nepal Police’s Special Bureau have arrested the spokesperson of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party.

Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Biswhakarma, who is also a former minister, was arrested from Naagdhunga on the western outskirts of Kathmandu, sources said.

He was returning to Kathmandu after attending some meetings of his party outside the Valley while police caught him. His aide Prem Darnal has also been arrested.

It has been learned that the Metropolitan Police Range in Kathmandu will file a chargesheet against him.

Meanwhile, police raided his rented room in Kapan of Kathmandu.
