Rolpa, June 18

The CPN Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has also filed nominations for June 28 elections in Thawang village of Rolpa district.

Earlier, the party had been carrying out anti-poll activities in many parts of the country.

The party’s local leader Bhakta Bahadur Gharti filed his nomination as candidate of chairperson of Thawang Rural Municipality today.

As the party is not registered yet at the Election Commission, Gharti will contest the polls as an independent candidate.

Thawang is the village where the Maoist rebels began the decade-long war from.

Meanwhile, the party is also fielding its candidates for other positions as well, according to a source.
