Naya Shakti Nepal coordinator Baburam Bhattarai has provided training to party workers based in Malaysia via Skype. Imparting training for about 45 minutes, Bhattarai appealed migrant workers to return to Nepal and utilise skills learnt abroad.

He said: We developed several countries by selling our labour. Now’s the time to develop our own country. Let’s move the country ahead together.

Bhattarai said it will not take long to develop Nepal like Malaysia, Korea and Singapore if we move ahead by embracing a new ideology, he said, adding: Tried and tested ways will not work anymore.

He also found time to talk about his party’s plans.

On June 2, we are organising a national gathering of party cadres and administer oath to one lakh cadres, he said, asking workers based in Malaysia to come home for the programme.

At a meeting held with Malaysia’s former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad a few months ago, I discussed Malaysia’s development model with him, Bhattarai said, informing that he too was coming to Malaysia within this July to gather information about Malaysia’s development model and gain experience.

During the session, Baburam Bhattarai responded to queries coming from party workers. At the same programme, Bhim Lamichhane and Amir Kumar Parajuli, treasurer and member of the Janapragatishil Manch (Malaysia), said they will quit the progressive forum and support Naya Shakti.
