Kathmandu, January 8
The central bank has directed banks across the country to remain open full-time this Saturday also for revenue collection.
Nepal Rastra Bank’s Regulation Department says the banks of grade A, B, and C have been directed to stay open on the weekend also as this is the last Saturday before the end of the second quarter of the current fiscal year.
The central bank used to issue a similar directive in the past quarters also. The bank hopes that the decision would also help businesses and common people who could not pay revenues on time due to different reasons.
Some commercial banks have already issued notices about their decision to open on Saturday.
