Baniya’s ‘Maharani’ wins Madan Puraskar this year

Chandra Prakash Baniya’s novel ‘Maharani’ has won Madan Puraskar, the most valued prize of Nepali literature, this year.

Madan Puraskar Guthi made the announcement on Sunday afternoon. Guthi’s chairman Kunda Dixit says details of the award ceremony will be announced later owing to the Covid-19 crisis.

Likewise, music composed bagged this year’s prestigious Jagadamba Shreee award.

Both the prizes carry a purse of Rs 400,000 each.
