A cable car service will be launched in the historical and touristic town of Bandipur in Tanahun district.

The cable car will be available for travel from Thuldhunga to Baral Chok, spreading over 1.6 kilometres.

RKB Real Estate and Constructions Limited and Tara Prasad Updhaya are jointly investing in the project that is estimated to cost around Rs 560 million.

A detailed project report has already been completed for the project, and required land has also been purchased. Likewise, environmental assessment has been conducted and the right to use the forest area has been obtained, according to Updhyaya.

Province 4 Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung is scheduled to lay foundation stone of the cable car project on July 20.

The cable car, upon completion, will be an added attraction for tourists visiting Bandipur. The old touristic town has been receiving around 100 foreign tourists every day, according to President of Bandipur Tourism Development Committee Baisha Gurung.
