Nepali Army team rushing to north Gorkha with relief

Kathmandu, January 10
A Nepali Army team is heading to Gorkha on Sunday to rescue earthquake victims, who have been facing more hardships due to snowfall. The team is carrying with it medicine, foodstuffs and warm clothes to the people, who have been facing increasing risks to their lives also due to the Indian blockade and the Madhesh movement, which have obstructed efforts to rush supplies in view of the winter.
On Sunday morning, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had convened an emergency meeting at Singha Durbar after he came to know about increased hardships to earthquake victims in northern Gorkha amid the snowfall.

At the meeting that had Home Minister, Defence Minister and security agency chiefs in attendance, he had directed all concerned to send a rescue team to the affected region immediately.
After the meeting, Defence Minister Bhim Rawal told the media that an NA chopper will rush to Gorkha with vital supplies. He said the NA team will conduct rescue operation, provide essentials like warm clothes and treatment, as per the need.
