Kathmandu, May 5

The Federal Parliament Secretariat has received six proposals that have sought amendments to the government’s annual policy and programme.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has filed an amendment proposal, demanding that the government replace the phrase ‘my government’ with ‘the government of Nepal’. Earlier on Friday, the party had objected to the use of words.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had read out the policy statement at a joint meeting of the both houses of Parliament on Friday.

The House of Representatives will begin discussions on the document on Sunday, according to the Secretariat. It will continue for a next few days.

The Secretariat has called a meeting for the House for 11 am today.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli respond to comments raised during the discussion before endorsing the document.

The government will prepare the annual budget statement based on the annual policy and prorgramme.
