The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has said that if the government does not make a firm decision to lift its suspension, it will resume its activities from Monday in line with FIFA’s directive.
ANFA CEO Indraman Tuladhar told a press conference on Friday that with the future of academy players at risk, the government needed to act immediately.
“If we get a positive response from the government by tomorrow, we may still be able to take part in the SAFF. Otherwise, given how serious this situation has become, we will begin activities in line with FIFA’s directive from Monday,” Tuladhar said.
He also said that problems regarding the education and housing of child players at the ANFA Academy were worsening.
“The children at the academy are facing problems with their studies and food,” he said.
According to Tuladhar, ANFA will fully support any initiative the government takes toward lifting the suspension. But he made clear that if there is no progress, daily football activities will proceed according to FIFA’s rules.
“We will support whatever initiative the government takes. If nothing happens, we will move forward with daily activities as per FIFA’s rules,” he said.
Nepali football has been out of international activity since FIFA suspended ANFA last June/July, citing third-party interference.
