Kathmandu, April 27

The Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav on Thursday demanded that Parliament endorse the constitution amendment bill by May 1, warning if not, the Madhesh-centric parties would not take part in local level elections.

Speaking with journalists at the Reporter’s Club in the Capital today, Yadav said amendment in next five days would be possible as per the agreement made between agitating Madhesh-centric parties and the government last week.

“We have postponed the programmes of agitation for few days in order to create an environment for endorsement,” Yadav said, “If the proposal is not passed, we will resume the agitation.”

Meanwhile, Yadav said his party would form an alliance with the newly unified Rastriya Janata Party Nepal in the local polls.

“We will collaborate in both elections and struggles,” he said, “We can also form alliances with others as well.”

Yadav’s party has already formed the alliance with Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party.
