Amend constitution before Phase-II polls, demands Yadav

Kathmandu, May 3

Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav demanded that the constitution amendment bill stuck in Parliament be endorsed before the second phase of local level elections scheduled for June 14.

Speaking at a press conference organised at the party’s central office in Tinkune of Kathmandu, Yadav said his party decided to take part in the first phase of polls after being assured by the government for the amendment.

“We have filed nominations after an agreement with the government to amend the constitution before the second phase of elections,” Yadav said, “Now, the government should implement its commitment.”

Meanwhile, Yadav said impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Sushila Karki was a conspiracy.
