At a time when corporate social initiatives are often widely publicised, Agni Group has taken a notably simple and understated approach to disaster assistance.
To support relief and rescue efforts for people affected by the recent devastating floods in Rasuwa, Agni Group Chairperson Cabinet Shrestha deposited Rs 10 million into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund on behalf of Agni Group/Mahindra.
Despite making such a significant contribution, Agni Group did not issue an official press release or promotional advertisement about the donation. The company decided not to publicise the contribution, believing that humanitarian assistance during a crisis should not be used as a means of publicity.
The contribution reflects Agni Group’s sense of responsibility that the private sector should stand with citizens during times of national crisis, rising above commercial interests.
