Kathmandu, November 6
Nepal has formally launched the Visit Nepal campaign in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board and social media platform TikTok, aiming to promote the country to the global tourism market through digital content and storytelling.
The campaign, which began on Friday, seeks to showcase Nepal’s natural beauty, unique culture, heritage and diverse tourism experiences to audiences worldwide by highlighting historical significance and using digital technology and creative content.
The launch event was organised by the Tourism Board and TikTok in collaboration with the Nepal government, with Minister for Information and Communications Dr Bikram Timilsina attending as the chief guest.
Running until the end of 2026, the campaign is expected to promote Nepal as a tourism destination while connecting local creators, entrepreneurs, businesses and communities with the digital economy.

Speaking at the event, Minister Timilsina said digital platforms had transformed how people around the world discover tourist destinations. He said such platforms should be used to promote Nepal’s tourism, art, culture and entrepreneurship.
“Digital platforms have changed the way the world discovers destinations. A story shared from one corner of the world can inspire someone in another corner to visit Nepal,” he said. “We welcome TikTok as a potential long-term partner in connecting Nepal’s tourism, culture, creativity and young people with the world.”
Sunil Sharma, acting director of the Tourism Board’s Public Relations and Promotion Department, described the partnership as an important initiative that would add a new dimension to Nepal’s destination promotion strategy.
As part of the campaign, nine international travel content creators from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Asia are visiting various tourist destinations in Nepal and sharing their experiences with global audiences. They are scheduled to remain in Nepal from October 30 to November 7.
A dedicated Visit Nepal hashtag page has also been launched on TikTok to strengthen the campaign. The Tourism Board will collaborate with Nepali celebrities and local content creators through TikTok’s Collab feature to promote Nepal’s distinct identity and local perspectives. Livestreams will also be conducted from different tourist destinations.
Emir Gelen, TikTok’s head of government relations and public policy for the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa, said the partnership would help showcase Nepal’s tourism potential to the world while enabling local creators and small businesses to benefit from the digital economy.
Earlier, TikTok and the Nepal Tourism Board had jointly provided digital storytelling training to more than 300 local tourism entrepreneurs and content creators.
