Kathmandu, November 6
Tipper trucks will be barred from operating on major and secondary roads across Kavrepalanchok district throughout the Tihar festival period.
The District Administration Office, Kavrepalanchok, announced the restriction through a public notice.
According to the administration, the decision was taken at a meeting of the District Security Committee to reduce traffic congestion and the risk of road accidents during the festival and ensure smooth movement of passenger vehicles.
Under the decision, tipper trucks will be prohibited from operating on major and secondary roads within the district from 5 am on November 8 to 9 pm on November 12.
The District Administration Office has requested all concerned parties to ensure that tipper trucks do not operate during the specified period.
