Supreme Court Justice Hari Phuyal has taken leave and is scheduled to return to the court only after the Tihar holidays.
According to the Supreme Court administration, Phuyal has taken leave from Tuesday to Friday. The Tihar holidays begin after Friday, with public holidays continuing throughout the following week. He is due to return to the court on November 16.
Questions had been raised about Hari Phuyal after details emerged of a meeting he held at Hotel Himalaya with Inam Sapkota, who was arrested on allegations of attempting to establish connections with high-ranking officials.
Following the disclosure, Phuyal issued a clarification, saying that his meeting with Sapkota had not influenced any cases pending before the court.
